Pastor Dave Excellent! I think people are learning through your December series - to put the whole story together in one piece - not just an assortment of Bible stories in one book.

God bless you! Faye

"Use your creativity for eternity" is a good Dave Trentholm line. Dave is a creative guy! Fishing, wood-working, websites, gardening; and I don't even know half of what you do. For me, baseball is about my only hobby now were I feel I am being creative. I try to be a creative teacher. ...I also like your remark about sharing the good news with your family. Even if they already know about God it's my honour to use prayer time (like before meals) to speak creatively to God and draw others into a more special relationship with him. Thanks for the encouragement in this direction!

Great word Brother Dave, I just found you online due to an article I had read a year ago about Satanic Distractions. I'm from a beautiful tiny island in the Caribbean (Anguilla) and wanted you to know that via the web your word reaches far. We need more men of God starting ministries online. Thank you again.

Dear Pastor Dave,

You are an angel sent from God. This message has helped me in the process of making my final decision which was along the lines of your message. I am currently going through a leadership situation; where to my surprise my name was announced from a list of those to attend the leadership class. I must say that i was not happy about it for two reasons - First, I believe we should have been called individually to discuss it and then accept or decline before it was announced; secondly i don't aspire to be a leader in the church as per the requirement in Timothy. I prayed about this and asked God for a sign and to do his will. Your message is the second sign with a lot of biblical truth to it, the first sign which happened today as well ministered to who I am. I function behind the scenes better and a leadership role at this time will be stepping into shoes that I have not been nurtured to wear nor does it really suit me. Furthermore, I am young, single, no kids and regardless of the role they want me in, I've barely settled into the ministry of which I am a part of. I do commend them for recommending me but I believe I have a lot to learn in my current role and the word of God generally . . . i sense that I am being pushed into it- and yes we are a small church.
This might be a lot to take in but I have just poured my heart out. I thank you as the vessel God chose to give this word for me a year early and I thank God for directing me to your website. May the Lord bless you and grant you wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to continue feeding the flock. Amen!

"Taking care of our Family" is a great theme. I think the encouragement for people to step up to leadership as Christian men and Christians in society (i.e. this usually as part of a functioning church) is supported by a loving heart that keeps the home fires burning. This love kindled by God in a heart first warms the home, then, those needy around us, then the churches and organizations. If church leadership is seen as a filling a vacant position, as if you are helping someone God out, this is lame. God does use our help in that he uses us to work, but he doesn't need it. There is no need in God, that's what makes him so good at loving us unconditionally, his love is 100% full-bore, all the time. We don't trade back massages like a couple, where the messages only continue if one is exchanged for the other. God's love is always on. That he has no needs is a blessed/great thing. Sorry too long.
