Hey Dave, good message. Was home sick today, so your sermon was it. Good job. Lots of good ideas in there. I hope it helps your church get the vision. I still don't like facebook though, probably because it is shallow. Catch ya later. Phil

Thanks so much for this!! I've been feeling like God wants me to take on a major project but was dragging my feet because of the fear that people would tell me I shouldn't do it because of the enormity of it. This is just the encouragement I needed. Have a great day, ok?

I was doing a search for a devotion built around "spoons" to do with my Russian Christian friends on my April 2010 mission trip to St. Petersburg, and came across your "Living on Strained Carrots" devotion. I am adapting it and expanding the game and will let you know how it turns out. Also plan to use the elementary version when I speak to the kids at the Harvest Christian School during that trip. God bless! Nancy

Hi Michelle! I'm glad this brought some encouragement to you! Do press on... God isn't so much concerned about final destinations in life, but rather He's all about the journey. You may think that you're going no where and accomplishing nothing - but if you're getting to know God better through it, then you're bang on track!

Thank you for posting this helpful article. I made a commitment to move from my home and attend bible college across country this fall and have literally turned my life upside down. To put it lightly everything appears to be going wrong- feeling hindered at every turn since I made this decision. I have been praying and seeking the Lord but some questions he appears silent- even though I have confessed every sin I could think of ;-) I truly feel I am going through a major test of faith for MONTHS. I know months is not long but is seems like forever (smile) The Lord continually encourages and comforts me but these problems are getting worse. Well the last few days I must admit I have become discouraged - in fact, I can't recall never feeling this discouraged- like did I hear God wrong? I have clung to the fact that the Lord is the Good Shepard, he would not lead me out of Egypt (so to speak) to be destroyed, and he will only lead me in the path that is for my good. Nor would he give me a stone when I ask for bread. Yet this feeling of wanting to crawl into bed in a fetal position and feel sorry for myself was overwhelming. I mediated on the promises of God but could not shake this discouragement and I felt my faith was about to waver. Suddenly I remembered hearing that discouragement is from Satan and found this article. Thank you, Thank you; it has encouraged me to press on to lay hold of what Christ has apprehended for me!
